Wacko Wednesday: Who would Jesus poke?

If Jesus had a Facebook account? He’d probably poke Pope Benedict XVI.

In an effort to reach out to young generation of Catholics around the world, the Vatican has launched a site and a supplementally Facebook application called Pope2You. No, it’s not the instant holy water delivery service it sounds like, but an application which allows you to send virtual postcards with photos of the pope (pictured with children), or lets you listen to his recent speeches.

Pope2You allows you to share the most wonderful pictures of Benedict XVI with your friends on Facebook, along with his words of hope and peace.

Send the virtual postcards from the Pope to your friends.

Download and read the Pope’s Message for the 43th World Communications Day.

Spread friendship with the Pope and become a witness of Christ in the world through the web.

Send now your virtual postcards

Back in January, the pope still warned against “obsessive” Facebook use. Has he recently been bitten by the Facebook bug? I guess we’ll know when we meet him at a table in Zynga’s Texas Hold’Em.
