Kip Drordy, the nerdy kid with zero friends in South Park’s Facebook episode, has gained over a 100,000 fans on Facebook in less than a week after the show aired on the 7th of April 2010.

The average person on Facebook has 130 friends, but most of them aren’t really friends at all. This theory is what Rosa Salazar, a 24-year-old comedian from Brooklyn, will be investigating in a video campaign promoting Microsoft’s Kin phone. The Kin is a touch-screen mobile device for “people who are actively navigating their social lives.”

For a series known for its absurd pop-cultural references, it took South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone surprisingly long to deal with the omnipresence of Facebook. To make for that, they dedicated an entire episode to the site. In episode 1404 of season 14, which is called “You have 0 friends” and aired on April 7th 2010, Stan Marsh finds himself forced to maintain his Facebook profile and eventually sucked into the “stupid social network”, Tron-style.

The 16-year-old Canadian pop singer with a certified platinum debut release may have millions of screaming fans, but his young, slightly androgynous looks and voice make him an easy target for opponents.

So Dairy Queen’s timing to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their famous Blizzard treat couldn’t be better. Part of their celebration are these tag your friends Facebook pictures that allow you to turn friends into 25 different Blizzard treats.
