Facebook Colors Red As Profile Pictures Turn Into Flag Of Tunisia




Thousands of Tunisians are switching their Facebook Profile Pictures into the national flag to celebrate the departure of president Zine el-Abidine Ben Ali after 23 years of iron-fisted rule.

The 2011 revolution in Tunisia wasn’t televized. It was Facebookized as status updates and groups helped spark nationwide protests and riots against the tiranny of their Arab leader. Ten percent Tunisians own a Facebook account, and many of them are now using the social network to cheer for the collapse of the dictatorship by setting the Tunisian flag as their Facebook pofile pictures.
