Facebook Profile Pictures For Japan

Facebook users have massively replaced their profile pictures with the flag of Japan in memory of the thousands of victims, and hundreds of thousands of homeless people following the 8.9 magnitude earthquake that hit the country on March 11th 2011. Creative graphic designers have meanwhile used the red disc-sun to create numerous of variations of the Japanese flag, in order to represent the horrific event in a visually striking way. We have gathered 18 of these designs and optimized them for use as Facebook profile pictures.

If you decide to use any of them, please consider making a donation to the Japanese Red Cross, Unicef, Save The Children or any other organization that supports the disaster relief efforts in Japan:

» Yahoo’s How To Help.

» Google’s Crisis Response.
