Facebook Easter eggs
Besides a chocolate delicacy, an “Easter egg” can also be an intentionally hidden message, inside joke or secret feature in a movie, CD, DVD, web page, application, or video game. Completely immersed in the Easter spirit today, we’ve hunted down the Easter eggs on Facebook.com and found a few. If you find any others, let us know!
#1 -Â The hidden quote
- Check out the friends list (View all) of one of your Facebook friends (not your own).
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page.
- Highlight (select) the entire row where the pagination appears (1 2 3 4 5 Next)
- You should see the following hidden quote:
What doesn’t kill a quail only makes it stronger.

The hidden quote has been around since Facebook launched in 2004, but has changed over time. Previous ones include:
Too close for lasers, I’m switching to gunsand
and
Only the craftiest of quails survive hunting season
#2 – Who the #$&%Â is :putnam:?
In Facebook chat, when you type and send :putnam: you’ll see a hidden smiley of a human head. This emoticon is Chris Putnam, a longtime software engineer at Facebook who runs the video team.

Chris can be seen in this video talking to Robert Scoble about HD video on Facebook as well as his job.
#3 – Little Celtics Fan
If you take the location (URL) of a Facebook photo and strip it down to the folder, you’ll see the image of an anonymous guy wearing a bib saying “Little Celtics Fan” UPDATE: The pictures change regularly.
UPDATE: #4 – Read our more recent article about the Facebook Konami code.
