Facebook.com Konami Code

Yesterday people discovered that Facebook.comhas enabled the famous Konami code (aka the Konami Command) for its homepage. The Konami Code is a cheat code that was first used in 1986 in a game called Gradius by Konami on the Nintendo Entertainment System. Since then, it reappeared in many games like Contra, or even non-Konami games, tv shows, songs, and now on Facebook.com. I’ll leave it up to you to find out what happens when entered.

Here’s how to trigger a new Facebook easter egg by typing the Konami code on your keyboard (arrows and other keys):

  1. UP, UP, DOWN, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT, B, A, Enter
  2. Click (or type) anywhere on Facebook.com.

To disable it again, just log-out of your Facebook account and log in again. You could also try closing your browser and relaunching it.

If you’re curious about any other sites that have enabled the secret Konami cheat code, visit KonamiCodeSites.com.
