How Many Hours Spam Keeps SpreadingPieter posted in "Privacy & security". 6 years, 1 month ago
Even though the hoax Facebook Time Checker application is still spreading ─only yesterday, it affected the page of the phenomenal musician, Chilly Gonzales─ it now has a successor called Analyzer (among other names, including Facebook Addiction).
The fake application promises you to “scan” your account and ─if you follow all necessary steps─ tell you how many hours you were logged into the social networking site in 2010, but behind the scenes it takes avantage of its status update posting privileges. And that number of hours it spits out? Just random.
Wow I was logged into Facebook for 1391 hours in 2010. Want to know how much time you spent on Facebook last year? Click here to find out! http://roxychat.com/hours
This is the front page of the Analyzer website. Do not proceed by clicking the button.
Similar hoax applications are located at ffff64.info and fbaddix.info, and probably a bunch of other URLs. Feel free to report them.
