The Facebook Gold Account do not exist, so ignore all the Facebook Gold membership upgrade status updates, links, groups and pages being passed around!

Facebook is NOT going to charge you a monthly fee to use the website, nor can you upgrade your account to gain access to an enhanced version or service that adds features like video chat, group chat, themes, seeing who visited your profile, a Dislike button, bonus FarmVille coins and a profile with no ads. To add insult to injury, following the fake instructions on how to enable Facebook Gold may in some cases permit hackers to take control of your account to send out spam, and ultimately get your account disabled. If you thought all of this was real and were fooled by the Facebook Gold Membership hoax, change your password as soon as possible to be on the safe side.

We’re posting this as a result of an e-mail we received from refacer Gj, asking us whether Facebook Gold Accounts are real:

I have done the steps many times and have never accessed the survey. The first time I saw the survey name “How dumb are you?’ I wondered if it was a joke and now I am really wondering if it is a joke to see how dumb we are to believe FB would offer a free service with no ads.

The  Gold account scam is also reinforced by victims (and pranksters) who change their profile picture to one of the images below, after receiving this message:

Take the photo above and save it to your computer. Upload it to your Facebook account. Make it your profile photo. Now add a Status Update that suggests, “I’ve just signed up for a Facebook Gold Membership!
