Facebook Fail Friday: Penalized poke

A 36-year-old woman living in Henderson, Tennessee (USA), was arrested for poking someone on Facebook.

By using the virtual “poke” option to contact a Hendersonville woman on Facebook, Shannon D. Jackson violated her restraining order which prohibits “telephoning, contacting or otherwise communicating with the petitioner.” If found guilty in court on October 28th, the woman could be sentenced to a maximum of 11 months, 29 days in jail, and a fine of up to $2,500.

Poke arrest

Jackson declined to comment Thursday afternoon. Hendersonville police have made copies of the page in which the alleged victim is shown to be “poked”.
