Even though the hoax Facebook Time Checker application is still spreading ─only yesterday, it affected the page of the phenomenal musician, Chilly Gonzales─ it now has a successor called Analyzer (among other names, including Facebook Addiction).

A spam application called Facebook Time Checker is luring unknowing Facebook users into completing advertisers’ offers in order to find out how much time they have spent on Facebook.

In the past hour, we noticed a new Facebook application spam outbreak that comes in the form of following status message: I had n0 idea u could see everyone who views your pr@file. You guys are gr@ss! http://bit.ly/******

A bogus page is promising free FIFA Superstars gold coins if you “Become a fan”, “Share the page” and post a message 7 times around Facebook, but the “cheat” that is revealed is just what we’ve already told you.

A page called “This Man Took A Photo Of Himself Everyday For 8 Years In A Row, Look!”* is tricking people into liking it in order to watch the video, which has caused the slideshow to go viral around May 23rd and watched by hundreds of thousands of people this week.

Seems like Facebook agreed with our report yesterday on the spam generated by the Poll application and decided to step in by deleting all public polls it published to profiles and pages. This is bad news for its developer, but the huge amount of unintentional wall posts was really an annoyance to both users of the application and users of Facebook in general.

There appears to be a flaw a new feature in the third party Poll application, causing newly created polls and quizzes to be unintentionally shared (read: spammed) all across one’s friends’ profiles and pages.

Today’s phishing site that is spreading around Facebook through messages is silvertag.be (we recommend against visiting that site). The URL shows a fake login form that looks almost exactly like the one on Facebook.com, but when a user submits his or her e-mail and password, instead of logging into Facebook the site will automatically spam all his or her contacts with the same URL.

Worm and virus creators tend to target large user communities to increase the odds of infection. They make no exception for Facebook. I just received a “Facebook webmail” from the “Facebook Inform Center” (e-mail address: administrator45@facebook.com) which has virus written all over it. As you can see, the built-in phishing detector of Windows Live Mail marked it as suspicious immediately.
