iTunes 9 has just been released and the rumored Facebook integration turns out rather disappointing. All you can do right now is right-click a song in the iTunes Music Store (not even in your personal iTunes library) and choose the “Share on Facebook” option to publish the song’s name and album cover to your Facebook profile. When somebody clicks on the song link on your profile, the iTunes software will be launched for a preview. A similar option is also available for Twitter users.

No social playlists or direct song embedding this time around. Apple, try harder!
