Upside Down Facebook Day: Interim Status Report #2

Upside Down Facebook Day has officially ended in one half of the world, but the Americas and Canada still have a few hours left to go. At the time of writing, we counted more than 200 rotated profile pictures in our +800 confirmed guest list, and the flip text tool already had over 1200 visits today, which means at least just as much upside down status updates.

I received some e-mails from readers who failed to flip their username on Facebook. Indeed, it seems that there’s now an error message stating “You may not mix character types within the same word.” Unfortunately, there’s no workaround, so your names will have to remain normal.

People are still joining in last minute, and enthused users are uploading screenshots as a proof of their participation, or just to show some funny reactions from their friends. It seems like everyone’s having fun today, which is the primary goal of the initiative!
