“Confirm, But…” Button

Darren Hoyt, a New York-based interface designer and developer, has proposed an alternative Confirm button for handling new friend requests on Facebook. Requests from old friends and colleagues, to be more specific. Clicking to new button would automatically switch some useful settings on and off so you don’t have to bother with them later. Here’s Darren’s all-in-one confirmation concept:

Or if it’s a bit hard to read, here’s what the “Confirm, But…” button says:

‘Confirm’ this high school acquaintance, but auto-block him from my status updates (especially the political stuff) and more sensitive personal information, obviously. Also, after a month automatically but discreetly defriend this person. I mean, you were never ‘friends’ to begin with, for God’s sake. No harm no foul, that’s why I say. Let’s not overthink this.

So, would you click that button?
