Facebook page wants us to say “twenty-ten” instead of “two-thousand-ten”

We’ve seen Facebook unintentionally append our lexis, and the spelling police is all over the social network in form of nitpicking friends, but we’ve never seen an attempt to actually change our vocabulary. The new year brings us such an endeavour with a Facebook page called “Saying “Twenty-Ten”, Instead of “Two-Thousand-Ten” Because It Sounds Cooler“. After all, the page creator observes, we weren’t saying “one-thousand-nine-hundred-ninety-nine” in 1999, so why say “two-thousand-ten”?

In merely two weeks, already 32,000 (that’s thirty-two-thousand) people have agreed to change the way they pronounce this year. Will you?
