Pi Status Update T-Shirts

For most people, March 14th is just like any normal day. But for math masterminds ─ok, just call us geeks─ it’s the day we celebrate π (pi). Being 3/14 in the month/day date format, it looks just like the first three numbers of the mathematical constant: 3.14159265358979323846264338327950288419716 and so on. Hence: Pi Day!
To be profound, Pi Day also has a Pi Minute (3/14 at 1:59 AM) and even a Pi Second (3/14 at 1:59:26 AM), which resembles π truncated to respectively five and seven decimal places.
In Latin American, European and Asian countries where the dd/mm/yyyy date format is used, there’s no 14th month and 3rd day to celebrate Pi Day. But they can celebrate Pi Approximation Day on July 22 (22/7), since the fraction 22â„7 is a common approximation of Ï€. In fact, it is actually closer to the irrational number than the decimal approximation of 3.14.
Why all this talk about pi? It’s because we made two new Facebook status update t-shirts for the number crunchers and Ï€-lovers among us. Order them today and get the t-shirts in time for Pi Day 2011! Or wear them all year round, just ’cause π rules.
» Order I’m dividing 22 friends by 7 (≈3.14 people like this).
» Order I’m being irrational (3.14159… people like this).
