Upside Down Facebook Day has officially ended in one half of the world, while the Americas and Canada still have a few hours left to go. At the time of writing, we counted more than 200 rotated profile pictures in our +800 guest list, and the flip text tool already had over 1200 visits today, which means at least just as much upside down status updates.

After a month of anticipation, the moment has finally arrived: June 9th 2009, also known as… Upside Down Facebook Day! Today, about 1,000 Facebook users -and we assume this includes you- will vertically flip their profile pictures and turn their status updates upside down. How? It’s pretty easy, just read below for instructions.

Just in time for tomorrow’s Upside Down Facebook Day, we’ve added an extra “Reverse” option to our Upside Down Text Generator. If you check the Reverse box, your rotated text will be mirrored too…

People, we’re gonna turn Facebook upside down for a day! Yes, we can. When? Flip 6/9 upside down and you get… 6/9! Similarly, turn 9/6 around 180° and you get 9/6 again. That’s why we will turn Facebook upside down on the 9th day of the 6th month: June 9th* 2009. This day will be known as UPSIDE DOWN FACEBOOK DAY!
