iTunes 9 has just been released and the rumored Facebook integration turns out rather disappointing. All you can do right now is right-click a song in the iTunes Music Store (not even in your personal iTunes library) and choose the “Share on Facebook” option to publish the song’s name and album cover to your Facebook profile.

We learned from TechCrunch that the Facebook 3.0 app for the iPhone and iPod Touch was approved by Apple and has been added to iTunes about 15 minutes ago. At the time of writing, the entry in the iTunes Store still mentions version 2.5, but it should be 3.0 if you install it.

Facebook has yesterday submitted their updated Facebook 3.0 app for the iPhone to the iTunes Store for approval. Hopefully, Apple approves this app fast because the “What’s new” list looks most pleasing.
