Facebook Impact: Facebook evangelists ranking

Refacer Adam D. tipped us via our fan page about a new Facebook page that ranks your friends who brought the most people to the social network. In addition to a top 10 (or 9 and then your position) of inviters, Facebook Impact also keeps track of the number of invites you’ve sent out, how many of them got accepted and by whom. Apart from running this blog, turns out we’re worthless evangelists for FB given our measly impact ranking of 81.

The page is located at http://facebook.com/impact, which used to be the public profile of a rock ‘n roll band called Impact. It seems that FB claimed the vanity URL back for their own use. “Thanks for sharing Facebook with your friends,” the page reads, and by adding this ranking or game element they are motivating a number of competitive users to try and beat their friends by inviting more new people to the social network. The race to 500 million users is on!
