Seppukoo kills your Facebook account, Facebook kills Seppukoo

Rather than fall into the hands of their enemies, ancient Japanese samurai preferred to die with honor, voluntarily plunging a sword into the abdomen and moving the sword left to right in a slicing motion. The name of this form of ritual suicide is Seppuku. About a month ago, an imaginary art-group based in Italy called Les Liens Invisibles, launched Seppukoo.com, a site that allows you to “liberate” yourself from your online identity by deactivating your Facebook account in a similar dramatic and glorious way, complete with your “famous last words” and a tasteful memorial page.

Even though far more original than Facebook’s dull deactivation option, the big F wasn’t amused and recently decided to obstruct Seppukoo from performing any more virtual suicides. So for those who missed their chance to “go Seppukoo“, here’s a video of a CNN New York reporter showing how it works worked.
