Status Saturday: Sin City Status Updates

A few weeks ago the Blu-Ray edition of Frank Miller’s Sin City was released. I can’t wait to see this movie again in High-Definition… but then I don’t own a Blu-Ray player so it’s going to be a pricey event. Anyway, the release inspired me to take some quotes from the movie and turn them into the following 23 Frank Miller-style status updates for Facebook, or Twitter, or whatever social network / lifestreaming service you’re using:

…is outnumbered. Outgunned. But the alley is crooked, dark, and very narrow. They can’t surround me. Sometimes you can beat the odds with a careful choice of where to fight.

…is in a lousy room in a lousy part of a lousy town.

…knows it’s pretty damn weird to eat people.

…is just a horny ex-con watching an exotic dancer.

…didn’t come here for the party, but came for you.

…is having a cold shower. It helps.

…can only express puzzlement, that borders on alarm.

…is wearing a damn fine coat.

The Sin City fan page has nearly 90,000 fans (at the time of writing) and frequently publishes clips from the Blu-Ray edition to your news feed. To promote the release, there’s also Sin City Facebook application (1,560 monthly active users) which currently lets you watch clips and play two games: a Simon Says-clone called “Get ‘em Good” and a click-and-shooter called “Old Town Ambush“. They’re not really worth your precious procrastination time, so I hope the third game -which has yet to be activated- will equal the “cool” of the movie.
